BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Roba, Alabama, August 29, 1942, to Ethel and Rev. Frank D. Dixon, he was a pastor in the Alabama A. M. E. Zion Church Conference. I gave my life to Christ at a very early age, about ten or eleven years old, and were baptized and joined The County Line A. M. E. Zion Church, under the pastorate of Reverend Robert Day. Through prayer and fasting, I learned, I was called into the ministry at the tender age of fourteen by our Lord, Jesus Christ. As I grew up, I had many encounters with my youth to adulthood, my parents, explained these events, and finally, they said we were peculiar children. I am married, to Mrs. Gloria Allen Dixon, for over 53 plus years with a son and daughter, Oscar Lee and Melinda Rae We are grandparents to Oscar Narjee and Natosha, who gives us two great grands, Imani and Zechariah.
When the Lord called me this time, he got my attention, I had retired from my job, and was in my late fifties. I had built houses and was renovating properties. Doing this time, I became very sick and, I didn’t feel so deserving, but the Lord turned my fears into joy. My church family knew of my struggles with my health and they prayed without ceasing. I remember my pastor saying to me, brother Oscar, we are praying for you. Why working on my property, the Lord call my name, He asked me “Will You Serve Me,” I said yes and I have not looked back but sought every opportunity to prepare myself to be able to serve. My ministry has taken it next important steps, at this point my best friend has to be totally informed and invited to share what the Lord is planning for me, us if you will. We have shared over 53 plus years of marriage. We have travel together into areas to support those who are lest fortunate and nursing homes to try and minimize for those who don’t get visitors.
Our need to be vigilant in our work as missionaries both nearing and far is before us, I have taken mission trips to Monrovia, Liberia and Johannesburg and onto Capetown, South Africa. I have witness the people when we arrived, applauded our arrival with medicines, and the medical group. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to visit our homeland and walk in the waters of our ancestors and serve our families. Only the Lord could have fulfilled the dreams of a young lad out of Alabama, who day dreamed as he walked the long walk home from cutting lawns and others assignments.
I took my theology studies from Beacon University, Columbus, Georgia, I achieved my Associate Degree, and Bachelors Degree in Theology. From the Christian Life School of Theology, I achieved my Master’s Degree in Theology in 2013. I have three years in The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church Studies. In 2007, I was invited to come on a mission trip to downtown Atlanta, I am still here working in 2018. I volunteered to work in two health and rehabilitation facility, I began in 2007 and 2008. There is a take away in this spiritual focus, remember when you pray, believe what you have prayed for, and receive it has thought it has already mani- fested itself because The Lord answers prayers.
There is a take away in this spiritual focus, remember when you pray, believe what you have prayed for, and receive it has thought it has already manifested itself because The Lord answers prayers. Family you can’t imagine what it sound like when the Lord call and asked me to serve Him that evening when I were renovating a new acquired property. I remembered answering yes, walking of and dropped my tool belt for the echo was still resounding in my spirit. Family, I know that I got it right, I am still serving with a thankful heart, He thought enough of me to say, “I chose you.”
